Kibaki funeral: Tanzania declares two days national mourning

Tanzania President Samia Hassan has declared two days of national mourning following the death of retired President Mwai Kibaki.

The president said in a statement that the national mourning will start on Friday, April 29 to Saturday, April 30.

"During this two day national mourning, our national flag will fly at half mast across the entire territory of  the country and all Tanzanian diplomatic missions abroad," the president said.

President Samia conveyed her heartfelt condolences to Kenyans and urged Tanzanians to condole with their brothers and sisters in Kenya during the difficult period as they mourn the passing of their third president.
