Tana River county to get its first Lands registry

Tana River county is set to get its first Lands registry.

Lands CEC Mwanajuma Hirbae said the county will receive Ministry of lands staff and a container for storing the crucial documents.

 

Speaking in Malindi on Thursday, Hirbae said officials held a meeting with the Lands CAS Gideon Mung'aro at Ardhi house in Nairobi and were assured that the process was at an advanced stage.

Hirbae said Tana River community is happy to get its first Lands registry.

''Since colonial times Tana River county has never had a registry,'' she said.

The registry will be the second to be opened in the region after the National Government opened another one in Malindi, Kilifi County which is set to be ready this December.
