CS Nakhumicha meets new Hospital Authority Fund chair

Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha has expressed her commitment to working with all state agencies within the ministry.

Nakhumicha acknowledged that such close collaborations go a long way in enhancing healthcare service delivery in the country.

The CS made the remarks when she met the newly appointed chairperson of the Trustees of the Kenya Hospital Authority Trust Fund (KHAT) Wilfred Lesan.

Lesan replaces Kenneth Wabwire Akide whose appointment was recently revoked through a Gazette notice on February 10.

“Lesan brings with him invaluable experience, which will help the ministry provide quality and affordable healthcare services to all Kenyans,” she said.

“We are confident your experience will help us provide quality and affordable healthcare services to all Kenyans.”

Lesan is set to serve for three years.

The agency is one of 18 institutions under the state department for public health and professional standards in the ministry.

It was established under the Kenya Hospital Authority Act of 2017

Its main purpose is to help mobilise resources for the development and improvement of health facilities in the country.
