President William Ruto has once again made radical appointments to key state agencies, according to a gazette notice dated February 24.

Ruto appointed Simon Muyumba Indimuli to the State Corporations Advisory committee as the secretary of the board.

"Indimuli will serve for a period of three years. The appointment of Wanjiku Wakogi is revoked," the notice reads.

Ruto also named  Sylvanus Maritim the new non-executive chairperson of the board of the Information and Communications Technology Authority.

"Maritim will serve for three years with effect from February 24, replacing Fredrick Owino," the notice reads.

At the Capital Markets Authority, Ruto named  Ugas Mohamed the board chairperson for three years, replacing Nick Nesbit.

Still at the Capital Markets Authority, Treasury CS Njuguna Ndungu appointed five people as board members to serve for three years.

They are Natasha Awuor, Elena Natalia, Meshack Moses, Gibson Kimani and Michael Bowen.

"The appointments of John Kipkosgei, Freshia Mugo, Mark Bichachi, Eli Kamau and Peter Mungai are revoked," the notice reads.

The latest reorganization comes even as questions abound on whether the president is targeting Former President Uhuru Kenyatta's allies.

Pundits have argued that the p[resident is keen on shaping the state agencies to align with his agenda and the same time reward his close allies.

Last week Ruto's reorganization of the government was dealt a blow after the High Court halted the appointment of Hussein Tene Debasso as chairman of the Kenya National Trading Corporation.

The move followed a petition by Captain Paul Rukaria, whose appointment was revoked by the President via a Gazette Notice dated February 6, 2023.

Ruto, who succeeded President Uhuru Kenyatta on September 13 last year, has since been reorganising the government by appointing people he believes will help implement his agenda for the country.

After appointing the Cabinet and Principal Secretaries, Ruto has been making appointments to various boards of key parastatals.
