It will cost up to Sh5,990 to travel from Nairobi to the newly rehabilitated Kakamega Airstrip. 

Skyward Express says the flight will take approximately 45 minutes from Nairobi to Kakamega. 

The commercial flight will now depart from Wilson Airport, Nairobi. 

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua presided over the launch of the first commercial flight at Wilson Airport in Nairobi.

The DP said the Kenya Kwanza administration remains keen to grow partnerships with the private sector, including airline operators.

"This is in our quest to improve the country’s business environment. Air transport should no longer be a luxury for the chosen few," Gachagua said.
