Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua on Thursday held a meeting with Mt Kenya leaders from within Azimio.

The meeting which included former Agriculture CS Peter Munya, former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Muriithi and embattled Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni comes amidst disquiet within the coalition.

Karua only described the meeting as a consultative meeting.

"Consultative meeting with KAMWENE leaders this morning," she tweeted.

No further details of the meeting were given.

The Kamwene group also includes former Murang'a Governor Mwangi wa Iria who was not present at the meeting.

Over the past few days, Kenya Kwanza leaders have claimed that the Opposition has no place for the Mt Kenya region after no one from the region was named part of Azimio's five-member team.

A section of Azimio members had also accused the Kamwene group of not being beneficial to the opposition coalition at all.

They were also accused of making funny demands within the coalition yet they brought nothing to the table.

"ODM currently finds value in a coalition with Wiper and DAP-K. Others are donkeys we have to whip to make any impact," Alai said.

"The others are stressing ODM with lots of funny rendezvous while in the real sense, they wasted our votes, handed over power to someone they want us to call enemy but they call them "my President."

The Azimio coalition is comprised of ODM, Jubilee, Wiper, Narc Kenya, DAP-K, Roots Party, Usawa kwa Wote, and Kanu parties among others.
