Azimio to stage 7-day vigil at Supreme Court, IEBC offices

The hearing of the petition will begin on Tuesday, August 30.

Azimio La Umoja Coalition party has planned a series of activities beginning Sunday, August 28.

Raila's press secretary Dennis Onsarigo said members affiliated with the coalition will stage a peaceful seven-day vigil at the supreme court and all IEBC offices countrywide.

"All Azimio leaders including MCA's are hereby requested to gather at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga foundation offices in Nairobi County starting 9am on 28th August 2022, for a briefing," he said.

They will begin with a church service at AIC Olympic 11am before proceeding to a public rally at Kamukunji grounds in Kibra at 1pm.

The Azimio coalition filed a petition at Supreme Court to challenge presidential election results that saw DP William Ruto announced as president-elect.

According to the timelines released by the Judiciary, the hearing of the petition will begin on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

The seven-judge bench of the court will deliver its verdict on September 5, 2022, fourteen days after the petition was filed.
