KCB coach Curtis Olago believes there is room for improvement from his charges despite a 70-3 demolition of Northern Suburbs in the Enterprise Cup on Saturday.

The bankers toyed with the minnows, leading 33-0 at the breather in a one-sided duel.

However, the veteran tactician said his charges will have to step up in the semis and final if they qualify.

“ We are happy with the win. The pitch conditions were not the best but there are certain aspects of our play which we have to improve including our ball carrying and execution in the red zone. We will have to be sharper in the next stage and we are just one win away from the final. Our target is to go all the way and win it,” said Olago.

The tactician said his immediate focus will be the upcoming Super Series which starts this weekend with the Enterprise Cup semifinals moved to June 1 and the final a week later.

"We have a tough task ahead. Most of our players will play in the tournament but we also have players playing for Shujaa and the Kenya under 20. So depth will be vital in the future; hopefully, when they resume, they will not be carrying injuries,” noted Olago.

Olago's charges are chasing a sixth cup title after falling short in the Kenya Cup where they lost to Kabras 29-5 earlier this month.

Skipper Griffin Musila said the defeat motivates them to win the knockout tournament.“We want to finish the season on a high by winning the trophy which we last won in 2017 and we are relishing the challenge" said Musila.

Try scorers for the bankers were Kolian Persian, Austin Sikutwa, Emmanuel Opondo and captain Griffin Musila with Opondo converting all the tries for a 33-0 lead at the interval. On resumption, Kolian and Musila scored their second with Levi Amunga, Horace Olela and Peter Kilonzo getting on the score sheet.

Meshack Opagala scored the consolation try for the visitors with Alex Owuor converting. In other results, Nondies beat Mean Machine 12-3 while the fixture pitting Blak Blad and Quins failed to take off due to the lack of an ambulance at Kenyatta University.
