A stoppage-time goal from striker Erick Otieno was all that Tusker needed to beat Ulinzi Stars in the Football Kenya Federation Cup semifinal match at the Nyayo Stadium on May 20.

Otieno's terrific header in the 90th minute sent the brewers into the finals of the competition that will be held on June 25 at a yet-to-be-known venue.

The Robert Matano-coached side will entertain either Kakamega Homeboyz or AFC Leopards in the finals.

Otieno, introduced in the 65th minute, converted a perfect cross from Levin Odhiambo from the left wing to beat Ulinzi's shot-stopper Ricks Omondi at the near post.

The dull first half ended in a stalemate, with none of the sides threatening to attack and no shots on target.

It was an open affair in the second half as both sides searched for a winning formula with a wave of attacks.

Ulinzi came closest to finding the opener after Boniface Muchiri's expertly taken freekick from outside the 18-yard box hit the crossbar eight minutes after the interval.

In the 65th minute, Matano made the decisive move by introducing Otieno who replaced Deogratius Ojok and the move paid off.

The KPL defending champions, Tusker, celebrated the goal by holding Daniel Sakari's jersey who was absent after sadly losing his father on Friday evening.
