Matano: League is not in our mind; focus now is on FKF Cup semis

Tusker head coach, Robert Matano says he does not have the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League in mind as he readies his charges for the FKF Cup semifinal clash against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday.

 

“We can't handle two games at ago; It is one match at a time. Our focus is on the FKF Cup, the league is not in our mind now.  I am preparing my players to be mentally and tactically ready for the match,” he said. 

Matano also asked his team to raise their focus and maintain consistency for the team to achieve their goal of winning the double.  “As we progress what we need is consistency,” he noted. 

The Brewers tactician also acknowledged Ulinzi as a tough and well-organised opponent, saying the match will be a tough one.

“It will be a tough match. Ulinzi are a very solid team, well-organized and have good, experienced and very aggressive players. They play good football too.”

“We are going to approach the game with one mind—and that is to win,”   added the gaffer.

Also speaking to the media, Tusker midfielder Mike Oduor said they are positive about the game and their only aim is a win so as to qualify for the final.

“In my career, I have never won a trophy. Winning the league or the cup will mean a lot,” altered Oduor.
