Ingredients
- 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced finely
- Vegetable oil
- 1 Packet shrimp, leave the shells on
- 1 cup white wine, water or fish stock.
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 – 2 tablespoons Piri Piri, or your favourite hot sauce.
- Dhania and extra seasoning
- Salt
- Lemon wedges
Preparation
Step 1
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over low heat. Then fry the onion and garlic until golden brown.
Step 2
Sprinkle desired seasoning over the onion, and garlic; add the shrimp. Stir, and continue cooking over medium-low heat, for 5 minutes;
Step 3
Add the white wine (water), lemon juice, and Piri Piri, stir, lower heat to a simmer and cook until shrimp are cooked; about 5 – 8 minutes, depending on how large they are.
Step 4
Reduce the heat and let it simmer until it is thicker than when you started.
Step 5
Stir in the parsley or Dhania, and remove from the heat.
Serve and enjoy over a cold beverage.
