Azimio boss Raila Odinga will on Monday hold a crucial meeting with all opposition Members of Parliament to lay the ground for this week's three-day protests.

The meeting at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation(JOOF) will strategise on how to execute the anti-government demonstrations across the country.

The opposition has called for street protests on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as it ramps up its resistance against President William Ruto's government.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Narc Kenya boss Martha Karua and other top Azimio principals will also attend the important meeting at JOOF.

''We shall update the country after the meeting,'' Makadara MP George Aladwa said.

Leaders will be briefed on the status of the signature collection exercise aimed at denting Ruto's popularity.

Senators and MPs allied to the opposition have been invited to the session that will also respond to claims that their activities are being funded by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

There are allegations that the ex-president gave the opposition some Sh40 million to bankroll last week's protests that rocked several parts of the country.

The Star understands that the meeting will also plan on how each elected leader will participate in the protests in their backyards.

This comes at a time when President Ruto is talking tough against the protests saying he will meet the demonstrators head-on this week.

There are reports that the Kenya Kwanza government has instructed its MPs to also hold counter-protests in their constituencies.

The President said he will stand firm against what he termed as a scheme by Raila to seek a share of the government through the infamous handshake.

''We know that he wants to share the government with us. But I will meet him head-on,'' Ruto declared.

"You can't use extra-constitutional means to get power. You want to use violence to get into government; it won't happen."
