Police officers arrested six suspected muggers aged between 20-26 years in Mathare on Monday.

They were flushed out of their hideout in Mathare Area 1 and found in possession of four knives, one stone and eight rolls of bhang.

In a statement, NPS said the suspects have been processed awaiting trial.

This comes after the Inspector General of police Japhet Koome recently issued a stern warning to criminals in Nairobi and across the country to desist from crime or face the full force of the law.

"The National Police Service Multi-Agency Team continues to make headways in addressing the emergence of predatory crimes especially muggings in Nairobi," NPS said.

The NPS said it remains unrelenting in protection life and property as security operations in the country intensify.
