Kenyans in the United Kingdom (UK) have lauded the Supreme Court for observing justice during the hearing and judgment of the presidential election petitions.

The group led by its chairman Sebastian Onyango, Joe Kan'gethe , Lilian Wachira, Jepkemboi Kosgey, James Gichimu and Ciru Wa Ngugi, said the Court delivered a well-reasoned judgement devoid of emotions and pegged on the Constitutional provisions that created it.

"We thank the members of the Supreme Court for ensuring that in dealing with these petitions, they have upheld the truth, fairness, trust, and objectivity," they said.

"This is regardless of the interest of their appointing authority and for ensuring that justice has not only been done but is seen by Kenyans to have been done without fear or favor."

They said the judgement was a proof that the Kenyan democracy is maturing, and politicians are learning to adhere to the provisions of the 2010 Constitution and the associated electoral laws.

The group further lauded the IEBC for conducting a fair and verifiable elections.

"We firmly stand in solidarity with the members of the Supreme Court and the original IEBC commissioners and the chairman, Wafula Chebukati, who remains the greatest hero of our time for standing up to the deep state and demonstrating fidelity to our constitution by rejecting an illegal call by the National Security Advisory Council to engage in a civilian coup," they added.

The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the declaration of William Ruto as the 5th President-elect.

Ruto will be sworn in as the 5th President at Kasarani Stadium on September 13.
