UDA flag bearer, William Ruto has come out to accuse Uhuru for planning to sabotage the upcoming  Elections.

Speaking in Kakamega during the Kenya Kwanza Alliance rally on July 31, Ruto stated that Uhuru is planning night meetings with the provisional administration officers to interfere with the results.

Ruto urged Uhuru to allow Kenyans to make informed decisions by allowing them to exercise their democratic rights.

"Please Mr. President, do not use our chiefs to sabotage Kenyans election. Because today there are night meeting involving chiefs and other government officials where they are being forced to undermine, manipulate and sabotage the August 9 election," Ruto said.

Ruto has since called out on chiefs and county Commissioners to steer away from politics assuring them of their job safety.

"We are requesting our chiefs and county commissioners do not be used by people who are going home in one to spoil the reputation of your jobs, do not allow yourself to be used to sabotage our election," he added.

The Kenya Kwanza Alliance noted some irregularities where chiefs were  being used to buy national ID cards from their supporters.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, had earlier observed a similar incident where supporters would issue out their ID card in exchange for cash.

"There are people going around buying IDs from registered voters. That information has been passed over to the Inspector General of Police and action will be taken on those individuals buying IDs. I appeal to voters please don't sell your democratic right to vote," Chebukati said.

Ruto has however come out to call on government officials and ordinary Kenyans to vote wisely and not allow themselves to be manipulated.
