Raila storms Elgeyo Marakwet for campaigns

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga on Friday started his charm offensive on the Rift Valley region with a stopover in Elgeyo Marakwet county.

The region is being billed as one of Deputy President William Ruto's strongholds.

He was welcomed by Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos and a host of his local supporters.

“Touchdown: It feels good to catch up with some of my long-time friends in Iten,” Raila said after arriving in ELgeyo Marakwet.

Raila is expected to hold a series of meetings in the Rift Valley region to popularise his faith stab at the presidency.

The ODM leader has been rooting for the unity of purpose in transforming the country saying it is an important component of bringing change in Kenya.

“Without unity, it will be challenging to spur economic growth, but we can transform this Nation into a place with abundant opportunities by working together,” Raila said earlier in a tweet.
