UDA Chairman Johnson Muthama on Monday dismissed President Uhuru Kenyatta's remarks that deputy president William Ruto plotted his impeachment.

Muthama, who spoke to K24 TV, claimed that ODM Party leader Raila Odinga was the one who was planning to oust him after swearing himself in.

“Mheshimiwa Rais, wewe ulilala ukaota. Mtu aliyejiapisha Kenya hii ni Raila. Ni yeye aliyetaka kukutoa mamlakani si Ruto,” Muthama said.

Loosely translated as: "Mr President, you must have dreamt. The only person who swore himself in is Raila. He is the person who wanted to oust you".

He added: “Ruto made you the President, but you are not recognizing him instead, you are recognizing the other one who did not".

President Uhuru is said to have told a group of Mt Kenya elders that Ruto wanted to kick him out.

He said he had to seek the ODM leader's help to have the plot contained.

The leaders present at the State House meeting were from Kiama Kia Ma, Kikuyu Council of Elders as well as elected leaders.

Ruto, however, dismissed the remarks by Uhuru saying he would never plan Uhuru's impeachment since he is the one who fought for his presidency.

He termed Uhuru's claims as "baseless propaganda and evil games".
