A Magistrates court has frozen the accounts of Kenyatta National Hospital CEO Kamau Njoroge pending an investigation into the award of tenders totalling Sh630 million to companies EACC associates with him.

The two accounts had Sh28 million in total. One account had Sh10 million while the other had Sh8 million.

Information to be obtained from these two accounts will be from January 2019 to date.

The magistrate court at Milimani further issued a warrant allowing EACC sleuth Paul Mugwe to investigate Kamau’s two accounts domiciled at Housing Finance.

The orders were issued following an application by the anti-graft agency.

"Our investigations have established that the said officer has accumulated assets which are not commensurate to his known source of income to a tune of Sh800 million," said EACC.

They indicated to the court that the probe is still ongoing and the commission must investigate the suspected accounts.

The court directed the matter to be mentioned on June 18 to confirm compliance with the orders issued.
