IEBC is set to investigate utterances by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who appeared to suggest that they rigged votes in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Chairman Wafula Chebukati announced this on Wednesday during the swearing-in of CEO Marjan Hussein.

"We are aware of what he said but people always have their versions of what they said. So our investigation team is probing before we summon him," Chebukati said.

During DP William Ruto National Delegates Convention, the Gatundu South MP claimed that he and other political leaders helped Uhuru to win.

Kuria alleged that together with others who are now allied to DP Ruto's camp rigged the election in Uhuru's favour.

"Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” Kuria stated.

On Tuesday night, Jubilee Vice  Chair David Murathe asked that Kuria be probed over his rigging remarks.

He said the Head of State did a well-choreographed campaign that saw them win the polls fairly adding that the vote-rigging allegations are something they are not aware of.
