Wiper Machakos governor candidate Wavinya Ndeti has called on her supporters to remain patient as they wait for IEBC to declare winners in the 2022 general elections.

Ndeti told her supporters to desist from posting election results on social media declaring her the winner stating that it wasn’t their mandate, but that of the IEBC.

The former Transport CAS, however, exuded confidence that she will emerge victorious to become Machakos County’s second governor.

She said they were hopeful that most Wiper candidates will win various seats not only in Machakos County but across the Ukambani region.

“IEBC must follow due process to announce the results. We have all our 37A forms and we know the win is ours. We thank God. So, remain peaceful as we follow the due process as required by IEBC before the regulatory Authority declares us winners. We are confident that the Wiper party will clinch most of the seats across the Ukambani region,” Ndeti said.

Ndeti addressed the press in Machakos town on Thursday.

She thanked Machakos residents for casting their votes in her favour.

“I thank Machakos residents for voting us as Wiper and myself together with my deputy Francis Mwangangi. It shows that you people have confidence in us, especially my deputy Mwangangi and myself,” Ndeti said.

“I want to assure you that with God’s grace after IEBC declares us winners, we will serve you well with God’s guidance and grace.”

Mwangangi echoed Ndeti’s sentiments stating they didn’t want IEBC’s mandate of declaring and announcing the results.

He termed it unconstitutional.

“But according to Forms 37A from our agents, we have led in all the eight constituencies in Machakos county,” Mwangangi said.

Incumbent Machakos senator Agnes Kavindu exuded confidence that she will retain her seat.

So far, four incumbent MPs in Machakos County have successfully defended their seats in the just concluded polls.

They include Wiper’s Robert Mbui (Kathiani), and Stephen Mule (Matungulu) Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga), Fabian Muli (Kangundo).

Mwalyo contested as an independent candidate after he lost in the Wiper primaries.

Other MPs elect are Caleb Mule who was elected on the Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket and Wiper’s Rober Basil.

Mule is the outgoing Kimakimwe MCA and now Machakos town MP-elect awaiting to be sworn in by IEBC.

Basil is a new political entrant.

Mule defeated incumbent Victor Munyaka who has served in the position for a record 15 years.

MPs results from Mavoko and Mwala constituencies are yet to be announced by the electoral Authority.
