ODM's Amina Mnyazi wins Malindi MP seat

ODM's Amina Mnyazi has been declared winner of Malindi parliamentary seat with 21,634 votes.

She becomes the second female MP after outgoing legislator Aisha Jumwa who is eyeing the Kilifi governor seat.

Malindi constituency Returning officer Mwanajuma Ali said Mnyazi was former MP Willy Mtengo of PAA came second with 9437 votes while Daniel Chai Chiriba of UDA finished third with 7221 votes.

Nixon Kingi Nyule (Safina) a teacher who is a new comer in the race was fourth with 1,782 votes.

Others are Kalama Kenneth Mulewa (Independent) with 900 votes, Peter Ponda (ANC) 505 votes, lawyer Richard Otara 312 votes while Tauea Kaingu garnered 105 votes.

The returning officer. Said Malindi had 94,605 registered voters the total. Valid. Votes cast were 41896 while 571 were rejected.
