Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi on Tuesday led a team of leaders to establish a 24-hour toll-free call centre for public awareness on county matters.

The governor said the number would be used to submit complaints and run strategic campaigns, adding that the service would be free.

He said the move would enable Kiambu citizens to report any need to the administration.

“This service will help Kiambu people to either call, text, or send a WhatsApp message. This will help in improving the service delivery,” Wamatangi said.

The governor reiterated the county ’s focus on continuity of reproductive services and fulfilment of the campaign promises.

“Today, I launch the toll-free numbers 0742000888 and Airtel 0103000888 to best serve our citizens as the county government of Kiambu and as a way of celebrating a happy Customer Service Week,” the county chief said.

The Deputy Governor Rosemary Njeri Kirika said that the county administration is committed to ensuring the electorate get the services they deserve.

She urged the residents not to shy away from reporting any crime perpetuated by the officials of the county, maintaining this would help improve service delivery.

The deputy governor said the call centre would be equipped with a tracking system designed to ensure all calls are attended to appropriately.

“I am humbly urging our people to call the numbers and report any incident and we will take the needed action," she said.

About a week ago, Wamatangi addressed the media after a house collapsed in Kirigiti and expressed confidence that he would restore sanity in service delivery.

He said the civil servants were at the centre of service delivery hence the need to change the way they worked to deliver services to the citizens.
