Kenya Rugby Union will have to wait a little longer to hold their elections after the Sports Registrar cleared only two affiliates as far as complying with the Sports Act is concerned.

KRU chairman Oduor Gangla said only KCB and Administration Police have complied with the Sports Act and they need to get a quorum of 10 members to conduct the polls.

The elections of the vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, and two directors will only be held if eight more members comply with the Sports Act.

The Sports Act requires clubs to provide documentation about the office bearers, certificates of conduct from the likes of EACC, KRA as well as audited accounts, and many others.

"The Sports Registrar spoke to us on Wednesday morning, saying we can't go on with the exercise because out of 47 member clubs, only two are compliant," said Gangla.

Sports Registrar Rose Wasike said she has given the union two months to fast track compliance of the clubs, according to Gangla.

“We have a window of two months and so we'll have a board meeting and we will communicate to the affiliates in due course," he noted.

The Annual General Meeting, however, passed the chairman, secretary, and treasurer's report

Elsewhere, Kabras coach Jerome Muller is wary of the threat posed by Homeboyz ahead of their Enterprise Cup semifinal on Saturday at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday.

The South African tactician said the Deejays are a competitive side and will pose a serious threat to their ambitions of qualifying for the final.

"It's a good team. We played with them in January in the league and they pushed quite hard. This time, we are well prepared for them," added Muller.

The sugar millers are chasing a league and cup double after winning their second Kenya Cup title last month after beating Menengai Oilers 34-28  in the final in Kakamega.

The Kakamega-based side will be without 15 first-team players who have joined the Simbas team for the Currie Cup in South Africa.
