Kenya Sevens head coach Innocent Simiyu has named four debutants in the national team ahead of next month's Singapore and Vancouver Sevens.

Homeboyz trio of Redden Marrow, Collins Shikoli and Richel Wangila have been drafted to the squad as Simiyu looks at navigating the challenges of competing in the World Sevens Series and the World Cup qualifiers.

"We will be tested accordingly by playing three tournaments in three different continents and timezones," said Simiyu.

"We have to be at our best to amass as many points as possible as well as qualify for the Rugby Sevens World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa in September."

The former skipper said the team have had a productive training period and are relishing the challenge of competing in Singapore.

"Our target will be to qualify for the quarterfinals and as well improve on our performances. The boys have put in the hard work and we are ready to compete and do the country proud," added Simiyu.

Shujaa performed dismally last two legs in Spain — Malaga and Seville — picking eight points while winning just four matches of 10 matches.
