Impala head coach Oscar Osir wants his charges to minimise on their errors if they harbour hopes of toppling KCB in the Enterprise Cup semi-finals on Saturday.

The Sarries edged out Nakuru RFC 20-16 in a hard-fought quarterfinal and the Kenya Sevens star says they must uplift the intensity for the match against KCB.

"We had a very poor first half and our lineout did not click. Our fielding for kicks from Nakuru was poor and  if we make that kind of a mistake against KCB, we will be punished. We must rectify them," said Osir

He hailed the mentality of his charges who never gave up in an entertaining contest despite trailing 13-5 at the interval.

"The boys showed character, gave it their all, and played until the last minute to secure victory," he added.

This will be the second meeting between the bankers and Impala with KCB running riot 47-0 in the Kenya Cup. Osir expects a competitive fixture this time around.

"Gradually as the season has gone along, we have improved. We know KCB have very strong forwards and are robust in the setpieces and this is why training this week will be on how to neutralise them and play hard."

The Ngong Road outfit have lost two successive Enterprise Cup finals,  going down 21-3 to Homeboyz in 2018 and 37-7 to Kabras in 2019.

Osir said they are taking it one match at a time. "You only start thinking of winning the trophy once you are in the final and so it will be a huge test for us come Saturday," he noted.
