Gor to sign 5-year deal with Tanzanian apparel manufacturer

K’Ogalo is currently signed with European company Macron for the 2023/24 season.

Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ochola has said that the FKF Premier League defending champions will sign a five-year kit deal with Tanzanian apparel manufacturer GSM Group as from the next season.

K’Ogalo is currently signed with European company Macron for the 2023/24 season.

Ochola expressed his excitement on the new deal on his Facebook page citing that the kit manufacturers were also happy to be associated with the most successful club in the region.

“I am glad that soon we shall sign a kitting deal for five years with sports apparel manufacturer GSM beginning next season. The deal will see GSM distribute replica jerseys throughout the country and kit our team gallantly.”

“Hersi Said is the CEO of GSM and he is happy to be associated with the most successful club in the region, Gor Mahia FC,” Ochola said.

Hersi is also the club President of the Tanzanian side Young Africans Sports Club commonly referred to as Yanga FC.

Yanga is Tanzania’s most successful club boasting of an incredible 29 titles followed by Simba Sports Club with 22 titles.

He further added that Hersi sought a partnership with Gor to develop and help in the sustainability of football in the region.

“Yanga SC and Gor Mahia FC share a lot in common in terms of football success in this region. Hersi Said told me that he understands Gor Mahia as a big club, and sort partnership with us on development and sustainability of the sports,” he added

Ochola is currently on a bench football marking tour in Tanzania in a bid to discuss football development in the region and country as well.

“In my benchmarking tour in Dar es Salaam, I met Yanga SC President Hersi Said and we discussed a lot in terms of football development in the region,” he concluded.

The Gor secretary general is also a FKF presidential aspirant in the elections scheduled for February 2024.

He will be facing competition from Extreme Sports CEO Hussein Mohammed who has come out strongly to show interest alongside US-based Sammy ‘Kempes’ Owino, a former Kenya international,  who also featured for Gor Mahia in his heydays.

Ex-FKF chief Sam Nyamweya has also shown interest in the position.

Incumbent Nick Mwendwa will not defend his seat after serving the mandatory two four-year terms.
