Kenyan duo of striker Jentrix Shikangwa and defender Wincate Kaari were named in Tanzania's Serengeti Lite Women's Premier League team of the 2022/2023 season.

This is after the pair starred in the just-concluded league season. Shikangwa, the former Vihiga Queens player, plies trade with Simba while Kaari turns up for Yanga Princes.

League winners JKT Queens, who dethroned Simba Queens from the title, dominated the list with four players followed by Simba's three.

Giants Yanga had two athletes despite finishing fourth in the league.

Shikangwa was joined by teammates Fatuma Issa and Violeth Nicholas while Kaari was companied by midfielder Amina Bilal.

The left-footed striker, Shikangwa, was runners-up in the Most Valuable Player award that was won by JKT's Donisia Minja.

Shikangwa was the March player of the month.

In the meantime,  Topister Situma parted ways with Simba after just one unproductive season.

According to a statement from the club, the contract was terminated by mutual consent. Situma found herself warming the bench most of the time after failing to nail down a starting berth.
