Zetech Sparks are banking on players’ fitness to garner maximum points against Nakuru City Queens in the Kenya Women’s Premier League match on Sunday at the Gems Cambridge.

The return of Puren Alekwe, Fridaus Abdala and Yvonne Kavere from injuries is a timely boost for the students.

Sparks have endured a challenging season so far but their last two wins in a row have injected fresh belief into the squad if Kitolo is to be believed.

“Alekwe guarantees goals. She has been struggling with a hip injury for the last two months. She scored hat-trick against Kangemi and a brace in the 4-1 rout of Kayole Starlets. 

“Kavere and Abdala have also recovered fully. We respect our opponents but what matters after 90 minutes is maximum points. Injuries are now behind us. we look forward to better performance to finish in a better position,” said Sparks coach Bernard Kitolo.

Leaders, Gaspo entertain Kisumu All-Starlets as the Ghost Mulee team continue their push for a maiden league title. The Gatundu-based side lead the 12-team standings by virtue of superior goal difference. They have 37 points, the same as defending champions Vihiga Queens.

Vihiga have a date with destiny against Thika Queens with the title battle tipped to go down to the wire.

Third-placed Ulinzi Starlets face a tricky Wadadia in Mumias. Wadadia are fresh from mauling Thika 4-1.

In Kitale, Trans Nzoia Falcons will be banking on home advantage when they face already relegated Kayole Starlets. Kayole are already planning for life in the Division One League with the anticipation of a quick return to the top tier. Bunyore Starlets lock horns with Kangemi Ladies.
