The quarterfinals of the Football Kenya Federation Women's Cup will be played on May 20-21.

Kahawa Queens, Kibera Soccer Women, Kisped Queens, Thika Queens, Ulinzi Starlets, Kisumu All-Starlets, Nakuru City Queens and Royal Starlets all booked their places following the weekend matches.

Defending champions Ulinzi are favourites to retain the title after rivals Vihiga and Gaspo Women were eliminated in the round of 16.

There are four women's Premier League clubs and as many Division one teams in the competition.

Meanwhile, Kenya will host the 2023 Cecafa under-18 women’s championships.

The tournament is scheduled to take place between June 3-17 in Nairobi.

This is the first regional tournament to be hosted in Kenya since 2021 when the Caf Women Champions League Cecafa qualifiers were held in Nairobi.

FKF Chief Executive Officer Barry Otieno says the tournament reflects FKF’s twin priorities of youth and women development.

“We are happy to have the privilege to host this tournament. It aligns perfectly with our focus areas as a federation and we look forward to a fantastic showcase in June.”

In the 2019 edition held in Uganda, the Kenyan under-18 women's finished third.

FKF has also bid to host the Cecafa under-18 boys' championships penciled for November this year.
