Thunder coach Sadat Gaya said they are up for the challenge especially for the Kisumu encounter, where they have had excellent results with the only blot coming last year.

"Our target is to win in Eldoret. We have never won there. We won't make excuses We won't be intimidated by the crowd there or lose our focus," Gaya said.

The two teams are brimming with confidence following wins over Strathmore University Blades and University of Nairobi "Terrorists" respectively in last weekend's encounters.

Lakeside posted 59-53 and 78-66 wins over the two varsity sides respectively while Eldonets hit UoN 73-61.

Swords will also leapfrog Zetech University Sparks if they bag maximum points against Eagle Wings. Ronny Owino charges posted a 69-22 away win in Eldoret and another 76-33 victory over Lady Bucks in Kisumu last week and are favoured to continue with their rich vein of form.

"We are continuing to work hard. Hopefully, we can beat eagles wings and get maximum points again," Owino said. "My players are beginning to believe in themselves unlike when we started. The wins showed great determination."

Swords will top the 12-team table with 27 points, two more than Maurice Obilo's high riding Sparks. It will be their last game this year.
