Ugandan and Rwandese champions will provide the toughest challenge for Kenyans when the East and Central Africa Handball (ECAHF) Championships start on Sunday.

Uganda Super League champions Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF), Police, APR and Gicumbi are the teams worrying the Kenyans.

The other foreign teams at the eight-day show are Jeshi La Kujenga Taifa (JKT) of Tanzania and Juba City men's and women's teams.

A total of 16 teams, in men's and women's categories, will slug it out at the Nyayo Stadium.

Reigning champions National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) men's team and Nairobi Water Queens will lead a Kenyan charge in the tournament.

Black Mamba, General Service Unit (GSU), Equity Bank and Kenya Defence Forces (Kenya) men are the other teams in the event.

In the women's category, Nairobi Water Queens are joined by NCPB and KDF.

The tournament, alongside the forthcoming December festivities, has seen the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) National League take a break until February 2024.

Teams:

Men: Police, APR and Gicumbi (Rwanda), UPDF (Uganda) and Juba City (South Sudan).

Women: Nairobi Water Queens, NCPB, KDF (Kenya), Nkajja (Uganda), JKT (Tanzania), and Juba City (South Sudan).
