Coach Ben Kitolo insists Zetech Sparks will not be relegated despite a torrid run in the Football Federation Women's Premier League.

Sparks are ninth on the log with 16 points, same as Trans Nzoia Falcons, who are 10th on account of a poor goal difference.

"We are keen to ensure we evade relegation at all costs," Kitolo said.

Speaking to the Star via the phone on Wednesday, Kitolo said they plan to clinch maximum points in their remaining six matches.

This, he said, starts with this weekend's match against Kayole Starlets at Camp Toyoyo.

"We are set and well prepared to face Kayole Starlets. We expect to get all the three points and not less than five goals," he said.

He said they are confident of running over Kayole buoyed by their impressive 10-0 win over Kangemi Ladies.

However, Kayole Starlets head coach Mary Adhiambo said they are closing the floodgates going forward and Zetech should expect a rough ride.

“We know that we are at the bottom of the table but that does not mean we will be conceding anyhowly,” Adhiambo said.

Falcons (16 points), Kangemi (-3) and Kayole (-9) are all in the danger zone.

Gaspo top the standings on a healthier goal difference over champions Vihiga Queens with both teams tied on 37 points from 16 matches.

Ulinzi Starlets, Nakuru City Queens, Wadadia and Thika Queens are third, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Already, Thika Queens head coach Fred Majani has given up on the title.
