Western Jaguars are banking on their consistency to garner maximum points against Greensharks and Mombasa Sports Club.

Jaguars play the lowly ranked sides in the men's hockey Premier League matches at the City Park Stadium this weekend.

Four matches are lined up in the men's cadre while the women's league will feature one.

The Kakamega-based side is on a 10-game unbeaten run having won on eight occasions and drawing just twice.

The Mike Malungu-coached charges have conceded five goals over that period and scored 27 goals—catapulting them to second place in the 10-team league.

"We aim to finish the season strongly in order to maintain the second slot. Failure to which Kenya Police will overtake us and that means there's no room for complacency," Fast-rising dependable midfielder Ivan Ludiali revealed.

"We want to continue from where we left in October and qualify for the Africa Club Championship. We are a young group of players who have matured over time. Playing together for some time now gives us an edge and the confidence to tackle any opposition."

Greensharks have lost the last two matches and languish in the eighth position. Tail-enders MSC are winless in their last five fixtures and are staring at relegation back to the Super League after just one season in the top tier.

Defending champions Butali Warriors have a date with MSC in what is expected to be a one-sided affair considering Butali's current supremacy. Butali won the reverse fixture 3-1 in Mombasa.

Parkroad Badgers, who are also in the relegation mix, face an arduous task against a resurgent Wazalendo side brimming with confidence.

The South B-based Wazalendo have scored nine goals in two matches and the return of coach Fidelis Kimanzi to the dugout is a welcome relief.

The only women's match will see record champions Blazers settle scores with Sliders. Blazers have already relinquished their title to Strathmore scorpions in what has been a turbulent season for the seven-time African club champions.
