Experienced Sailors defender Abraham Musee wants teammates to pile more misery on Parkroad Badgers when the two sides face off in the men's hockey Premier League match at the City Park Stadium on Saturday.

Badgers are on an eighth-match losing streak, to sit in a precarious ninth position in the 10-team league with just six points.

Concern for the Badgers is their blunt attack that has only managed seven goals in 13 matches. Coincidentally, the Sailors lost 1-0 in the reverse fixture despite being favourites.

Sailors have also had an inconsistent season thus far. They have won thrice, lost twice and drawn once in their last six matches to occupy the sixth position. Sailors need to return to winning ways after losing 2-0 in Kakamega against Western Jaguars on October 29.

"It is a must-win for us considering Badgers have only had two wins in the entire season so far. Inadvertently, they beat us back in May but they have to be prepared for a torrid afternoon."

"It won't be a walk in the park. Everyone must step up and play for the badge."

Free-falling Mombasa Sports Club will have to arrest their poor form when they square it out with USIU-A Mashujaa in their backyard. MSC have recorded a solitary win in 11 matches and relegation awaits the league returnees based on their remaining seven tough matches.

Wazalendo face an arduous task against Greensharks with both sides tied on 16 points but Wazalendo occupy the seventh slot because of a superior goal difference.

"The transition in the club has really affected us but we hope to rediscover ourselves and return to the level we were before the pandemic," Dansto Barasa, who plays as an attacking midfielder for Wazalendo hinted. Barasa returned from a professional stint in Germany recently.

In the only women's top-tier league match, serial champions Blazers rub shoulders with USIU-A Spartans. The two sides drew 1-1 in the first leg.

Scorpions are yet to win in four previous fixtures after registering two draws and as many losses while inconsistency has been Blazers undoing this term. The nine-time African Club champions are on the verge of relinquishing their title to Strathmore Scorpions.
