National women's cricket team captain Queentor Aoko is hoping the three-nation tournament set for next month will help improve the quality of their game.

Aoko said they will give their best in their quest for the title in a tournament that has also attracted Uganda and Qatar.

“We just want to improve our game and maintain a fighting spirit to the end. Everyone wants to win always and hopefully, giving our best will see us win the tournament,” Aoko said, adding they are not under any pressure.

“There’s no pressure…the team is calm and composed waiting for the tournament.”

Meanwhile, Aoko revealed the current wet conditions are giving them a hard time in training at their Sir Ali Cricket grounds base under head coach Francis Otieno.

“We can’t train in the rain and that has really affected us. However, we are keen to maximise on the favourable days,” she said.

Aoko believes they will have addressed their shortcomings ahead of the tournament, tentatively set for December 12-22.
