Kenyan bongo group Brandy classic has released a Valentine's day song called 'Valentine'.

Speaking to Word Is, the trio said they got the inspiration from current perceptions about love being 'overlooked'.

"There is no true love, and so we aim to bring the Valentine's vibe back," Duncan Ouma said.

Ouma and fellow former high school friends Jeremiah Okware and Michael Khalid began as dancers at G-Snipers Dance Crew in Huruma-Johnsaga, where they brought music into the mix.

They are working on an EP that will drop later this year.

Speaking about their experience doing Swahili songs, the band members said the language is underrated.

"Sometimes the intended message is not understood."

Brandy Classic Band recorded their first single the same year, 2021, 'Masheri'.
