Detectives are investigating the murder of a 21-year-old man whose body was found outside their house in the Mowlem area, Nairobi.

The mother of the man told police the deceased had gone out of their house to buy chips on Wednesday night.

She said she retired to bed and by then the man had not returned to the house.

Come Thursday morning, her neighbours called her saying the body of her son was lying on the ground floor of their house.

The neighbours and the family established the deceased had a fractured right thigh, right hand and broken right side teeth.

The victim was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki where he was attended to and later succumbed to the injuries, police said.

Police suspect the man was beaten up and left at the scene for death.

Detectives are following his last movements as part of the probe into the murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said no arrest has been made so far but investigations are ongoing into the same.

"This seems to be murder but we are pursuing it to establish the motive first," he said.

Elsewhere in Pangani, Nairobi, police said they are investigating the death of a 25-year-old househelp whose body was found on her bed.

Police said Jackline Jepkurui was found lying unconscious on her bed.

Police who visited the scene established that the deceased lived alone and on examination, she had aspirated foam oozing from her nose and mouth.

The body had no visible injuries some medicine was found in different parts of the house.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, police said.

And police in Nyamira’s Nyamusi area are investigating the murder of a two-year-old boy.

The body of the boy was found lying on the bed with serious injuries when the mother returned home.

Police said she requested a neighbour to help unlock the door and in the process, they found the body of the boy lying on the bed with injuries on the head and blood oozing from the nose.

A suspect believed to be their relative is on the run and efforts to trace him are ongoing, police said.
