First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Wednesday went to Kericho to mark the International Day of the Girl Child 2023.

She arrived in Kericho to join leaders from the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB) member counties in commemorating the day.

Upon her arrival, she was welcomed by songs and dances from students who also gave her a bouquet.

After her welcome, she proceeded to plant a tree with the help of some Forest Rangers.

The LREB counties are holding celebrations under the auspice of the Kericho County government, the convenor of the Gender Pillar at LREB. 

Mama Rachel is the chief guest of the event.
