It was all pomp and colour at the Bomas of Kenya when First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Tuesday led the country in celebrating Utamaduni Day.
Mama Rachel was seen donning a green dress and Maasai headgear.
A resident Ruth Akinyi was also seen walking to the Bomas of Kenya holding fish and Omena.
During the event, the First Lady was flanked by senior state officials including Cabinet Secretaries Moses Kuria (Public Service) and Peninnah Malonza (Culture and Heritage).

Principal Secretary State Department for Culture and Heritage Ummi Bashir and other dignitaries were also present.

Rachel also admitted that culture plays a critical role in enhancing the country’s tourism.
“Culture has become an integral part of any nation’s foreign policy serving as a means to promote tourism and attract investments. We need to continually come up with novel ways to market culture while protecting its intellectual property,” she said.
