Former Roots Party running mate Justina Wamae has called on elected leaders to focus on the issues that will make the lives of Kenyans easy.

Speaking on Saturday, Wamae said the leaders should execute and supervise the policies that would lead to the ordinary Kenyan living better.

She said this should be done by all leaders, regardless of their political divide.

"Today I am challenging everyone whose bills are paid for by the government whether in Azimio la Umoja or Kenya Kwanza government ;whether a salary or pension," she said.

Wamae said the leaders were dependent on the people's taxes for their survival and without that they would not have other means of survival.

She said it was for that reason that they were always campaigning so as to be elected into power.

Wamae said the leaders were elected to address the issues of Kenyans and that is what they should focus on.

"I bet you can't survive in this economy if you were not earning a salary or pension from our taxes. That is why you are all campaigning non-stop," she said.

Wamae on August 3 said it was time the leaders have a handshake for the sake of ordinary Kenyans who have continued to bear the brunt of the demos witnessed in the country.

She noted that ordinary Kenyans need an ample environment to continue surviving and looking for their daily bread without interruptions.

She said it was time for President William Ruto to accept the ‘nusu mkate’ government as it had happened under former President Mwai Kibaki (late), a process which he had pushed for to make it happen.

“Ruto team must have an open mind towards a handshake, mkate nusu and everything in between,” she said.
