Mbarire lauds Ruto for prioritising Embu projects

Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire has lauded President William Ruto for initiating a number of development projects in the county through support from the national government

Speaking at the Moi Stadium, Embu, Mbarire said her government will continue to partner with the national government on key priority areas to spur development.

''We are happy that we continue to work closely with you and your government,'' she said in her address.

Mbarire said the county government will set aside Sh250 million for an aggregation centre in the county and asked the President to help with the same amount.

''The people of Embu are behind your government and the plans that you have for the country we believe in,'' she said.

''We look forward to working with you in improving industrialisation and cottage industries in Embu.''

Mbarire, who is also the United Democratic Alliance[UDA] party chairperson, said the county was thankful for the assistance received from Ruto's government.

'"We are thankful of the magnificent Embu stadium build in a record 15 weeks as well as the Embu modern market,'' she said.

At the same time, Mbarire asked the President to consider upgrading the Embu regional commissioner's residence into a State Lodge.
