23-year-old woman kills husband in domestic fight in Kakamega

A 23-year-old woman confessed to police that she murdered her husband in a domestic fight in Lunywenywe village, Kakamega County.

According to the police, the suspect had been arrested before she confessed to the murder of one Alex Fukwo Wasonyokha aged 31 on May 6.

She had been arrested earlier on over the missing husband before she later confessed to the incident, police said.

She led police to her house where a door was broken into and the body of the deceased recovered.

According to police, the deceased was found naked lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts on the neck, shoulder and left knee.

The woman was detained ahead of arraignment where police planned to make an application to detain her for more time to enable them to conduct further probe.

The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

Such bizarre murder incidents have been on the rise in the area.

Elsewhere in Sunton area, Kasarani, Nairobi, a woman aged 30 was stabbed and killed in a domestic fight.

Police said the husband was arrested after the May 7 incident.

The couple had an argument in their house before the man stabbed Gladys Duru using a kitchen knife, their landlord told police.

She was rushed to St. Francis Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The scene was visited and the murder weapon was recovered and kept as an exhibit.

The body was moved to the mortuary ahead of the planned postmortem.
