Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi leaves the country on Friday for a two-day official visit to Bujumbura, Burundi.

He will represent President William Ruto and lead the Kenyan delegation at a meeting of signatory countries of the framework agreement for peace, security and cooperation for the Democratic Republic of Congo and the region.

The key objective will be to draw a roadmap that will facilitate the next steps for the identification of activities to be carried out by stakeholders.

The meeting will seek to revitalise the Peace, Security, and Co-operation framework and strengthen its effectiveness in addressing peace and security challenges in the region.

Summit will focus on discussions on key political and security developments in the region, including updates on the regional peace process.

It will consider the draft roadmap for the revitalisation of peace, security and cooperation.

β€œThe meeting will also give an update on the security co-operation; activities of the Contact and Coordination Group on non-military measures and its Operational Cell,” a statement from the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary said.

It said there will be briefings on initiatives to support women and youth agenda in the region.
