Water Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome has called out ODM leader Raila Odinga for leading destructive protests which has resulted in the loss of lives and properties.

While condemning the demos, Wahome said it was uncouth and irresponsible of Odinga and his Azimio brigade to incite their supporters into participating in destructive related demos which threaten the stability and progression of the nation.

Speaking in Kirinyaga on Wednesday, the CS decried that most Kenyans are suffering as a result of the protests and a time has come when they need to stop them.

She urged Kenyans to be responsible and restrain themselves from being recruited into petty premature politics and engaging in the destruction of public infrastructure.

The CS said under no certain terms will Odinga secure entry into the government through any unconstitutional means as Kenyans made their democratic decision way back in August 2022.

She called on President William Ruto to stay put and not be distracted from the course of development.

The CS said the current administration is busy implementing the pledges it made to Kenyans and as such has no time to engage in petty politics.

"I want to discourage the route Odinga has taken to express his outrage. Destruction of properties should not be allowed because it is a loss to the country. Our country is guided by law and order and that should be maintained at all times," she said.
