While accepting the ward, she said that she would not have been able to do what she does now without the support of her viewers.

"I want to say thank you so much for this award. But I also want to recognise the fact that if it were not you, then I wouldn't be standing here.

"You are the people who once I put the content out there, you are the people who are commenting, demanding, challenging and supporting," Lynn said.

She said it was an honour to receive such recognition.

"I want to dedicate it to all the women who are here who are confident in using their voices. And I believe that every time a woman stands up to speak, she represents our generations. So thank you so much for this."

Lynn has been using her platform to cover a wide range of human interest stories.

Among her most popular stories was on Ebby, a high school student who died after sustaining injuries allegedly inflicted while she was at school.

The story resulted in the trending of the hashtag #JUSTICEFOREBBY where Kenyans called for those responsible to be held accountable.
