The murder trial of the late Kabete MP George Muchai proceeds today.
On Tuesday, the pathologist took to the stand and gave evidence on the postmortem examination he carried out on Muchai and three others.
Dr Johansen Oduor said Muchai died out of multiple injuries caused by a single gunshot.
He is the prosecution's 35th witness said Muchai was shot at close range with either a G3 rifle or AK47 gun.
He ruled out any possibility of a shotgun.
Muchai, his driver Stephen Wambugu and two bodyguards police constable Samwel Lekakeny and Samwel Kimathi were killed on the morning of February 7, 2015, in Nairobi.
Those facing the murder charges are Eric Isabwa, alias chairman Raphael Kimani, alias Kim butcher, Mustapha Kimani, alias Musto; Stephen Astiva, alias Chokore; Jane Wanjiru, alias Shiro; Margaret Njeri and Simon Wambugu.
An officer who has since testified in the case said the gunfire on Muchai’s car took less than one minute.
At the same time, a Nairobi court has issued a warrant of arrest against three police officers who allegedly assaulted Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu at City Hall in 2020.
Milimani magistrate Gilbert Shikwe ordered the OCS to arrest James Mwaniki Thathi, Gibson Masika Barasa and Edward Mutuma M’Amburubwa.
They are to be produced in court on February 28, to answer the criminal charge.
