A pathologist is expected in court to testify in the murder trial of the late Kabete MP George Muchai.

Dr Johansen Oduor is the prosecution's 35th witness.

The trial had been listed for hearing on Monday but failed to start after a different witness reported ill.

The court was forced to adjourn the matter to Tuesday when Johansen will give his testimony.

Muchai, his driver Stephen Wambugu and two bodyguards- police constable Samwel Lekakeny and Samwel Kimathi- were killed on the morning of February 7, 2015, in Nairobi.

 

Those facing the murder charges are Eric Isabwa, alias chairman Raphael Kimani, alias Kim butcher, Mustapha Kimani, alias Musto; Stephen Astiva, alias Chokore; Jane Wanjiru, alias Shiro; Margaret Njeri and Simon Wambugu.

In a separate matter, a politician and businessman charged with obtaining Sh12.7 million have been granted a bond of Sh2 million or a cash bail of Sh600,000 million in a botched gold deal case.

Seth Steve Okute who contested the Karachuonyo parliamentary seat Member on an ODM ticket and Bruno Otieno Olienda are accused of obtaining USD100,000, which is equivalent to Sh12.7 million from Marjorie R Grant.

The high court will also be mentioning the late Paul Gicheru succession case.
