Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha on Tuesday held a tripartite meeting with the Germany ambassador to Kenya Sebastian Groth and Unicef representative Kenya Shaheen Nilofer.
Nakhumicha said Germany has pledged to strengthen its partnership with Kenya in ensuring Kenyans access quality and affordable healthcare.
The CS lauded the government of Germany and Unicef for their continued support and partnership in improving healthcare services for Kenyans.
"As Kenya battles the worst drought in 40 years that has affected more than 23 counties and left more than 600,000 children battling severe malnutrition and the increased cases of cholera outbreak, Unicef has pledged to offer humanitarian support in aid of the affected Kenyans," she said.
Cabinet Secretary for East African community, ASALs and regional development Rebecca Miano who was present thanked the Germany government and Unicef stating that majority of the affected Kenyans reside in the ASALs counties.
