Former Wajir County Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi and ODM boss Raila Odinga's cousin George Midiwo are among those nominated to join the CRA.

The nominees were selected from a pool of 139 applicants who expressed interest in forming part of the agency that is tasked with recommending the basis for equitable sharing of revenues raised nationally between the national and the county governments.

Benedict Muasya Mutiso, Jonas Vincent Kuko, Isabel Nyambura Waiyaki and Hadija Nganyi Juma were nominated from the Majority wing.

Apart from Gedi and Midiwo, the minority wing also nominated Wilfred Koitamet Olekina Nchoshoi for the position.

The nominees are expected to present clearances from the Ethic and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Office of Registrar of Political Parties.

Among the high-profile applicants who were unsuccessful include former Director General of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Francis Meja, former nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, Nairobi Deputy Gubernatorial aspirant Philip Kaloki and former Nyeri Senatorial Priscilla Nyokabi.

If approved, the new team will take over after the term of members serving in the commission ends on December 31.

CRA is an independent agency established under Article 215 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
