Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza quoted a Bible verse on Sunday alluding to her recent struggles at the county.

During an inter-denominational church service at Embu University, attended by President William Ruto, she also offered words from the scripture to him.

“The Bible says many are the sufferings of the righteous but God will save them from all those,” she said.

Mwangaza said that just like Ruto, she too has been through many tribulations.

“Our beloved President, the great servant of God David and I are in the same WhatsApp group. We have gone through a lot of suffering but God also saved us from them,” she said.

The county chief said to those who are going through hard times at the moment, God would come through to help them at their time of need.

On November 30, Justice Wamae Cherere barred her impeachment from office.

“The motion did not follow the correct procedure in initiating a removal of the governor,” Cherere said.
